What if the pain that seems to be yours is really not yours?

What if the pain that seems to be yours is really not yours? And here I do not mean to belittle personal suffering, but only to offer a larger perspective that may help alleviate it.) The truth if that fear and anger exist outside ourselves. They are not yours or mine, unless we attract them.
Negativity is an invisible parasite. It needs a host to feed off of, and the host is the ego. When you learned as a young child to cling to my toy, my candy, my pleasure, my happiness, at the same time your ego started clinging to the opposite: my scraped knee, my broken doll, my sadness, my pain.
Absorbing an experience as “mine” was how you built your self up, developed a sense of individual identity. As we grew, we learned to see this self in a larger perspective, in the context of humanity. But when tragedy strikes, we often regress to this early state.
To counteract this, we need to find the spirit. For spirit can do one thing that your ego craves very deeply and can’t accomplish on its own. Spirit can help the ego escape that painful trap of I, me, and mine. It is strange but true that the very mechanism that builds the isolated self also wants to escape it.
The ego wants the best for “me,” yet there is another, subtler force that wants the best for all (which ends up best for me, in the end). Allow this force to express itself, and you will discover that the walls of isolation are not as solid as your suffering makes them seem.
Compassion comes from the root words “to suffer with,” and for that reason many people actually fear it. Compassion is one of the most honored and saintly feelings because it marches up to the front lines of suffering and says, “Take me.” In this giving of oneself there is a direct experience of pain, yet in the giving there is love.
Thus compassion has the power to dissolve pain by not avoiding it, but by trusting that love affords the greatest protection. By discovering that there is a reality – love – stronger than any pain, you mount your strongest defense.

UPRISING

The problem of hunger in the world is in itself a disgrace to us all, or at least for some of us. I have no illusions. The search for a more just society, is a place lost in the whirlwind of globalization, which in contrast to join us, have us away even more. Are frequent images food thrown away, just to maintain prices. And who does, is quite aware that what makes this crime against humanity even more filthy. No need to go Africa to see this problem of hunger in the world The search for a more just society, is a place lost in the whirlwind of globalization, rather than to join us is more. find the same problem on any continent. The consumerism has these things, along with the horrific images of hunger that could easily be alleviated if the people decide their own destiny in hand. Was not asking for a fairer society. Only calls which seem to reflect.
I think, I think we are all a little lost in this way and we do not know how to get out.
This is not the end of the road......

Hunger cover millions of people around the world and the vast majority is of human causes. The ineffectiveness and inattention of governments with the less favored, contributing to the misery, which in turn is caused by a the capitalism that unfairly accumulated wealth in the hands of few and lack in the hands of many

Namaste, Bunny

Bunny brought joy to all who knew her... from her first four decades at the zoo in Evansville, IN, to the many thousands who were introduced to her nearly ten years ago when she arrived at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee to begin her retirement. On that day, for the first time since infancy, Bunny met other Asian elephants and discovered she had the freedom to roam hundreds of acres. Bunny's first few days were underscored by constant, cheerful trumpeting, indicating she was more than pleased with her new home and friends! On May 14, 2009, at the age of 57, our "Outdoor Girl" Bunny peacefully passed away from natural causes due to old age. Namaste, Sweet Bunny.

Thanks to my friends

Films Chicken a la Carte by Ferdinand Dimadura

This film is about the hunger and poverty brought about by Globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.

Yes, totally.
But I liked and some thousands of Portuguese, I believe
There will be consequences?
I sincerely hope so. The systems of regulation of the media, will not continue to pretend that nothing is happening.

Think about it and be happy!

Eight of the night on a busy avenue. A couple is already late for dinner at the house of some friends. The address is new, as the way she gave on the map before leaving. He drives the car. It guides and asked to turn in the next street on the left. He is sure that it is on right. They are discussing she let him to decide. He turns right and realize that was wrong. Albeit with difficulty, admits that insisted on the wrong track, . She smiles and says no problem in getting a few minutes later. But he still wants to know: - If you were so sure that I was taking the wrong path, you should persist a little more. And she says: "between being right and being happy I prefer to be happy. we were near to have a discusion if I had insisted more, and we would have spoiled the night. How much energy we spend just to show that we are right, .
Since I heard this story, I have asked more frequently: "I want to be happy or be right?"
Think about it and be happy!

Private Driver

I can not drive! I had to hire a private driver. I could choose this private driver, but mine is the best in the world. my good friend Nela who leads me to any side without "blinking"
My Private Driver prides itself in providing quality services.
When it comes to making the best choice to Hire private Driver, you know you need to look at a few things. You need to check if the driver is fully insured and has a valid driver's license. You also need to get reference from previous employees of the driver to ascertain the credentials. The good drivers are the ones who take passengers to the destination, without causing any incidence

Thanks!
You're the best friend that a person could have

Sprained ankle

I fell in the street and now I walk like this.
If you want to know details, ask me
I have several versions, all funny; because if I don't smile for the life she neither smiles for me
I took a few days off of my feet. I'm inactive all day, so I'm sure the ankle is being rested. Possible exercises I can do include swimming and resting on the couch.
Massages are also important. I find every day our friend Conceição in physiotherapy. I miss you all.

A sprained ankle happens when the ligaments have been damaged by the joint being twisted.
A sprained ankle, also known as an ankle sprain, twisted ankle, rolled ankle, ankle injury or ankle ligament injury, is a common medical condition where one or more of the ligaments of the ankle is torn or partially torn. The anterior talofibular ligament is one of the most commonly involved ligaments. Sprains to the lateral aspect of the ankle account for 85% of ankle sprains

EARTH WATER ... THE WATER THAT WE MUST GET A DRINK-is a water distributed by "Sociedade Água de Luso"!!!!! :)

Earth Water was founded on the simple concept, ‘If you had the chance, would you change the world’.

The United Nations Refugee Agency is currently at work in over 110 countries, including some of the most dismal and poverty stricken places on earth. UNHCR provides the basic needs of survival to more than 32.9 million refugees and displaced people, who have fled from persecution and armed conflict, and are now living in desperate conditions. UNHCR possesses the infrastructure, personnel, and expertise to ensure that the money from the sale of Earth Water directly benefits those who need it the most.

Earth Water funds projects related to the acquisition, storage, and distribution of fresh clean water, focusing on both emergency provisions and developing sustainable water sources for people living in poverty. History has proven time and time again the importance of the work carried out by the UNHCR. We at Earth Water are proud to support their efforts.

Portugal began this week in a pioneering project of solidarity.
Water packed Earth Water is the only product in the world with the seal of the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees (UNHCR), reversing its profit for the aid program of water that institution.

Nationally, the Earth Water is a project that has the support of Tetra Pak, the mainland of Central Beers and Spirits of MSTF Partners, GCI Group and the Foundation's Luis Figo.

With the selling price to the public (PVP) of 59 cents, a pack of Earth Water says that the label "offers 100% of their profits to the global aid program's water UNHCR, showing below the slogan" The water worth water.
Currently 6 thousand people die daily in the world for lack of drinking water.
With 4 cents, the UNHCR can provide water to a refugee for a day.
"Every day six thousand people die for lack of drinking water and 80% of these are children. Every 15 seconds a child dies of a disease related to water. With the creation of Earth Water wants to be a difference and improve these frightening statistics. In developing the concept of "You Never Drink Alone" is intended to create solution to the shortage of water worldwide. Help! DISCLOSED!

What A Wonderful World

The world is beautiful because we do so
Enjoy it and you'll be happy

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies so blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, saying, "how do you do?"
They're really saying, "I love you"

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more, than I'll never know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

swine flu

MEXICO CITY — The swine flu epidemic entered a dangerous new phase Monday as the death toll climbed in Mexico and the number of suspected cases there and in the United States nearly doubled. The World Health Organization raised its alert level but stopped short of declaring a global emergency.

The suspected number of deaths rose to 149 in Mexico, the epicenter of the outbreak with nearly 2,000 people believed to be infected.

The World Health Organization reported a slightly lower figure, 73. The WHO said it was still awaiting official reports from the U.K. about the Scottish cases, and it was reporting different numbers in the U.S. (40) and Mexico (26) from what those governments confirmed.

While the total cases were still measured in hundreds, not thousands, Mexican Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova said the epidemic was entering an extremely dangerous phase, with the number of people infected mushrooming even as authorities desperately ramped up defenses.

"We are in the most critical moment of the epidemic. The number of cases will keep rising, so we have to reinforce preventative measures," Cordova said at a news conference.

Why we should not wear clothes of trainings

I 'm very sad.

Today I went to the balance and I did not like what I saw.
When I'm nervous I just feel like eating. And lately I have been nervous.
The life is not easy.
When I was at work during these hours, the problems of work did forget the other problems.
Now I'm more free, and I only think about eating cakes and choclolates.
But I can and will lose weight.

Leave the clothes of training is the first choice I have to do, because they are large and I didn't see as I was getting fat.
Diet begins today

Handel: 250 Years

It's 250 years since Handel's death

A star that never fades
George Frideric Handel died 250 years ago, but his music is as popular today as it was during his lifetime. Unlike many composers of classical music, he was a highly respected and internationally renowned composer during his lifetime – in other words, a star.

Support the Global Eradication of Polio

There is no cure for polio. Yet this highly infectious and debilitating disease – which mainly affects young children and can cause lifelong paralysis – can be prevented with a vaccine that costs only $0.60. In the 1980s, polio paralyzed at least 1,000 children every day all over the world. But today, after international efforts to immunize every child everywhere, 5 million people are walking who would otherwise be paralyzed and the world is almost polio-free. Several regions of the world have been certified polio-free, yet polio remains endemic in Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan. And as long as a single child remains infected, children in all countries are at risk of contracting polio.
Polio was one of the most dreaded childhood diseases of the 20th century. Please show your support for global eradication of polio, so no child will know the crippling effects of this disease ever again.

The Origins of Easter

The name Easter comes from Eastre, an ancient Anglo-Saxon goddess, originally of the dawn. In pagan times an annual spring festival was held in her honor. Some Easter customs have come from this and other pre-Christian spring festivals. Others come from the Passover feast of the Jews, observed in memory of their deliverance from Egypt. The resurrection of Jesus took place during the Passover. In the early days of Christianity Easter and the Passover were closely associated.
Prior to A.D. 325, Easter was celebrated on different days of the week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In that year, the Council of Nicaea was convened by emperor Constantine. They issued the Easter Rule which places Easter on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox (first day of Spring). Therefore, Easter must be celebrated on a Sunday between the dates of March 22 and April 25.
Lent
Preceding Easter Sunday is the 40-day penitential season of Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding at midnight on Holy Saturday. Lent is a season of prayer, abstinence, and fasting. This is observed in memory of the 40 days' fast of Christ in the desert. Lent is observed for six weeks and four days by the Western Christian churches that include Saturday and Sunday into the total. In Eastern Orthodox churches Lent is 50 days since they do not count Saturdays or Sundays.
Shrove Tuesday, the day before the beginning of Lent, was designed as a way to "get it all out" before the sacrifices of Lent began. Known the world over as Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) or Carnival. It is celebrated in many cities, the most famous American city being New Orleans, LA.
Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, gets its name from the practice, mainly in the Roman Catholic church, of putting ashes on the foreheads of the faithful to remind them that man is but dust.
Holy Week
Palm Sunday: This is held on the Sunday before Easter Sunday. It recalls Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem one week before his execution.
Holy Monday: commemorates Jesus' cleansing of the temple, when he assaulted money changers and overturned their tables. Some believe that this triggered his arrest and crucifixion.
Holy Tuesday: recalls Jesus' description to his disciples on the Mount of Olives of the destruction of Jerusalem.
Holy Wednesday: (once called Spy Wednesday) recalls Judas' decision to betray Jesus in exchange for 30 pieces of silver.
Maundy Thursday: commemorates the Last Supper, Jesus' agony in the garden and his arrest.
Good Friday: recalls Jesus' death on the cross. The origin of the word "good" has been lost. Some claim that it is a corruption of "God" and that the early Christians called this day "God's Friday." Others claim that "good" refers to the blessings of humanity that Christians believe arose as a result of Jesus' execution.
Holy Saturday: (a.k.a. Easter Eve) is the final day of Holy Week and of Lent.
Easter Sunday: commemorates Jesus' resurrection. In the early church, converts were baptized into church membership on this day after a lengthy period of instruction. This tradition continues today in some churches.
Symbols
Many Easter symbols and customs come from the Old World.
The CrossThe Cross is the symbol of the Crucifixion, as opposed to the Resurrection. However, at the Council of Nicaea, in A.D. 325, Constantine decreed that the Cross was the official symbol of Christianity. The Cross is not only a symbol of Easter, but it is more widely used, especially by the Catholic Church, as a year-round symbol of their faith.
Easter LillyThe white lily symbolizes the Resurrection. Yet, lillies have long been revered by pagans of various lands as a holy symbol associated with reproduction. It was considered a phallic symbol!
The Easter BunnyThe Easter Bunny also originated with the pagan festival of Eastre. The goddess, Eastre, was worshipped by the Anglo-Saxons through her earthly symbol, the rabbit.
The Germans brought the symbol of the Easter rabbit to America. It was widely ignored by other Christians until shortly after the Civil War. Easter itself was not widely celebrated in America until after that time.
The Easter EggThe exchange of eggs in the springtime is a custom that was centuries old when Easter was first celebrated by Christians. The egg was a symbol of rebirth in most cultures. Eggs were often wrapped in gold leaf or, if you were a peasant, colored brightly by boiling them with the leaves or petals of certain flowers.
Today, children hunt colored eggs and place them in Easter baskets along with the modern version of real Easter eggs -- plastic eggs filled with chocolate candy.
Happy Easter!

Marie Antoinette's Last Letter

October 16, 1793, 4.30 A.M.It is to you, my sister that I write for the last time. I have just been condemned, not to a shameful death, for such is only for criminals, but to go and rejoin your brother. Innocent like him, I hope to show the same firmness in my last moments. I am calm, as one is when one's conscience reproaches one with nothing. I feel profound sorrow in leaving my poor children: you know that I only lived for them and for you, my good and tender sister. You who out of love have sacrificed everything to be with us, in what a position do I leave you! I have learned from the proceedings at my trial that my daughter was separated from you. Alas! poor child; I do not venture to write to her; she would not receive my letter. I do not even know whether this will reach you. Do you receive my blessing for both of them. I hope that one day when they are older they may be able to rejoin you, and to enjoy to the full your tender care. Let them both think of the lesson which I have never ceased to impress upon them, that the principles and the exact performance of their duties are the chief foundation of life; and then mutual affection and confidence in one another will constitute its happiness. Let my daughter feel that at her age she ought always to aid her brother by the advice which her greater experience and her affection may inspire her to give him. And let my son in his turn render to his sister all the care and all the services which affection can inspire. Let them, in short, both feel that, in whatever positions they may be placed, they will never be truly happy but through their union. Let them follow our example. In our own misfortunes how much comfort has our affection for one another afforded us! And, in times of happiness, we have enjoyed that doubly from being able to share it with a friend; and where can one find friends more tender and more united than in one's own family? Let my son never forget the last words of his father, which I repeat emphatically; let him never seek to avenge our deaths. I have to speak to you of one thing which is very painful to my heart, I know how much pain the child must have caused you. Forgive him, my dear sister; think of his age, and how easy it is to make a child say whatever one wishes, especially when he does not understand it. It will come to pass one day, I hope, that he will better feel the value of your kindness and of your tender affection for both of them. It remains to confide to you my last thoughts. I should have wished to write them at the beginning of my trial; but, besides that they did not leave me any means of writing, events have passed so rapidly that I really have not had time. I die in the Catholic Apostolic and Roman religion, that of my fathers, that in which I was brought up, and which I have always professed. Having no spiritual consolation to look for, not even knowing whether there are still in this place any priests of that religion (and indeed the place where I am would expose them to too much danger if they were to enter it but once), I sincerely implore pardon of God for all the faults which I may have committed during my life. I trust that, in His goodness, He will mercifully accept my last prayers, as well as those which I have for a long time addressed to Him, to receive my soul into His mercy. I beg pardon of all whom I know, and especially of you, my sister, for all the vexations which, without intending it, I may have caused you. I pardon all my enemies the evils that they have done me. I bid farewell to my aunts and to all my brothers and sisters. I had friends. The idea of being forever separated from them and from all their troubles is one of the greatest sorrows that I suffer in dying. Let them at least know that to my latest moment I thought of them. Farewell, my good and tender sister. May this letter reach you. Think always of me; I embrace you with all my heart, as I do my poor dear children. My God, how heart-rending it is to leave them forever! Farewell! farewell! I must now occupy myself with my spiritual duties, as I am not free in my actions. Perhaps they will bring me a priest; but I here protest that I will not say a word to him, but that I will treat him as a total stranger.~ Marie Antoinette

That's What Friends Are For

And I never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you

And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes and try to feel
The way we do today
And then if you can remember

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well, you came and opened me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you

Whoa, and then for the times when we're apart
Well, then close your eyes and know
These words are comin' from my heart
And then if you can remember, oh

Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
In good times, in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
Oh, that's what friends are for

Whoa... oh... oh... keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, oh, for sure
'Cause I tell you that's what friends are for
For good times and for bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for (That's what friends are for)

On me, for sure
That's what friends are for
Keep smilin', keep shinin'

DID YOU KNOW?

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible.

Who is Nuno Alvares Pereira?

Who is this man that will be canonized on 26 April ?

Message by Fernando Pessoa

What halo encircles you?
It is the sword that, swirling,
Makes the lofty air lose
Its dark, soft blue.

But what sword is it that, raised aloft,
Makes that halo in the sky?
It is Excalibur, the anointed blade,
Which King Arthur bestowed upon you.

Hope accomplished,
St. Portugal in essence,
Raise your sword like a torch
I would like to know more about him!!!!!!!

An invitation

I will continue
I do not give up so easy

When I started this blog I had one intention: all the students in my class could and should write about the subject of the lesson or other opinions, or just single words.
But this does not happen. The teacher tried many times our participation. The teacher encouraged us, but this blog has not been very well accepted
She corrected my mistakes. Today, since I am not going to school the teacher did not amend my mistakes
So I ask everyone to go here to correct the mistakes and leave your opinion.

G20: The World in our hands

In a few days, global leaders will come together in the G20 meeting in London to discuss the economic crisis.
This is our chance to put the global population over private interests and politicians. We are launching a campaign calling investments "green" and a package of economic recovery on a global scale that contains incentives, regulations and reform of the system. Without a strong popular pressure, the G20 runs a serious risk of not meeting a goal. Thus, we are asking to sign the petition to be delivered directly to government representatives and leaders in the meeting. In his first visit to Africa, Pope Benedict XVI said The AIDS can not be overcome by the distribution of condoms, which only exacerbates the problem..

The Pope's statement contradicts studies on prevention of AIDS and represents an enormous setback to decades of work in education and awareness. The Pope has a powerful moral influence on more than 1.1 billion Catholics worldwide, with 22 million infected with HIV in Africa, these words can dramatically affect the epidemic by putting millions of lives at risk. Sign our petition asking the Pope to support, rather than away methods proven effective for preventing AIDS.

19 of March - Happy birthday dear “Z”

These last days have been very happy.
I thank God for the wonderful friends I have, that led me to walk, to smell the sea, to feel the sunshine and …….laugh ....

....Days when I did not think.....
....Days in which I only lived.......

and I dreamed I was part of the sea, the sun and the environment
I’m very happy.
I advise:
Smile for life for the life smile to you too.

PS. I have photos. Later I will show you, but imagine myself and my friends to drink champagne by the sea………Only in the movies

Spring arrived

Equinox on March 20th at 11:44

An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the Sun being vertically above a point on the Equator. The term equinox can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens.
The name "equinox" is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, the Illumination of the Earth by the Sun on the day of an equinoxnight and day are approximately equally long. It may be better understood to mean that latitudes +L and -L north and south of the equator experience nights of equal length.
The word is also used for the same event happening on other planets and in setting up a celestial coordinate system; see equinox (celestial coordinates).
At an equinox, the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator (i.e. declination 0) and ecliptic intersect. These points of intersection are called equinoctial points: the vernal point and the autumnal point. By extension, the term equinox may denote an equinoctial point.
An equinox happens each year at two specific moments in time (rather than two whole days), when there is a location on the Earth's Equator where the centre of the Sun can be observed to be vertically overhead, occurring around March 20/21 and September 22/23 each year

Urge Congress to Permanently Protect the Arctic Refuge!

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is home to caribou, snow fox and millions of migratory birds. It is also the most important onshore denning habitat for America's vanishing polar bears.

But this natural treasure is constantly under siege. Time and time again, the oil industry and their allies in Congress have sought to open this special place to harmful new drilling, threatening all of the wildlife that depend on it for survival.

We need to permanently protect the Arctic Refuge! Urge your Representative to support the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act (H.R. 39) to permanently protect the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

I found these definitions of the EFA,
it is a little sad for those who want to learn.

Starry, starry night.

I know this song long time ago
I hope you listen the song with your heart and enjoy it as much as I like
Good week end

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,
Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

Starry, starry night.
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

No "Goodbyes". Just "See you later..."

Hello, Miduxa. God, do I feel bad about myself... Had I seen the threatening signs, would you still be there? Now that you have spoken out your mind and written out your decision, do I still have the right to even comment on it? Please allow me to.
Of course I respect your decision (how could I not do it?), but let me tell you that I believe it's not too late for you to come back, if you change your mind. And if you do, I am sure you could find more interesting and creative ways to deal with this topic. That might include talking about environmental concerns as well as relating the topic to other important and more relevant themes. Talking about how different life is nowadays from what it used to be, let's say 15 years ago - because of technology. When it comes to household tasks, when it comes to the way we communicate, when it comes to the way we learn about what is going on in the world, when it comes to the freetime activities we get ourselves involved into... You have proven you have the ability to go beyond the oriented tasks suggested to other students. This blog is the living proof of it. Don't let it die.
You are a strong and determined Woman, and I'm sure you won't let the flame die out.

Civil Marriages in Lebanon

Imagine a country where civil weddings between inter-religous couples are only legal if they occur outside its borders. That country is Lebanon.Civil weddings are recognized, but they cannot take place inside the country. Marriage, divorce and inheritance are regulated according to the conventions of Lebanon's 18 recognized religions. The result is that people who don't believe in religious weddings have to go abroad to get married (if they can afford it). This a problem for:* couples who are Hindu, agnostic, Bahai, atheist, or members of any of the religions excluded by the constitution;* couples who come from different religions; and* couples who share the same faith but see themselves as secular.Recently, the Interior Ministry granted Lebanese citizens the right to keep their faith private on official identification, the first decision of its kind. Civil weddings, however, remain a remote possibility. Please urge government officials to recognize the right of Lebanese citizens to civil marriages

Hi, I signed the petition "Civil Marriages in Lebanon". I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 7,500 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts.

Hi.

when I thought about creating a blog, was for all students of the school's Mealhada, EFA of the class D, contribute with ideas, subjects of class or other concerns.
We all could have an interesting exchange of ideas and learn the English language.
It is with sadness that I see a little intervention for the students. We can write with mistakes, but I think it's so we can learn.
Now that I decided to quit school, I see no reason to continue blogging
I'm thinking........
I like to write, I like to think, I like English.
I miss you

Goodbye

I dreamed all night that I had abandoned the school, and I thought: this is exactly what I want to do!!!!
Sorry my friends because I left you, but with my age I want to do only what I like and gives me pleasure.

Bye Bye

What we can do today for our planet

And we all use less plastic bags
Plastics, like diamonds, are forever!

Over 100,000 marine animals DIE every year from PLASTIC entanglement!
The problem
Plastic bags are:
• Made from petroleum, a nonrenewable resource.
• A serious litter problem since they are lightweight and hard to contain (blow around).
• Non-biodegradable, breaking into smaller particles BUT never fully disappearing.
• Mistaken for food by marine animals (particularly sea turtles).
• One of the most numerous items of litter along with cigarette butts and Styrofoam.
• A major part of waste in our landfills.
"I'm the problem, I'm the solution"
The solution
• Bring your own cloth bag.
• Ask for paper bag (holds 5 to 6 times more than a plastic bag).
• Ask your merchant to promote cloth bags (charge for plastic or provide incentives for cloth).
• Encourage development of bags made from natural products such as cornstarch and soy.
• Write your elected officials regarding the hazards of plastic bags.
• Participate in a community/beach cleanup.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
• Buy your drinks in glass or aluminum containers
• (75% of aluminum cans are recycled only 36% of plastic bottles)
• Reuse plastic utensils and containers
• Make recycle bags
"The leatherback turtle can keep itself warm in cold water, dive over 1000 meters below sea level, travel thousands of miles and gulp down a Portuguese man-of-war but is threatened by the inert plastic shopping bag"

Homesickness, sad, melancholy..?

Sometimes you feel Homesickness?

Homesickness, it's universal. Psychologists call it "separation anxiety" and few people are immune.

This is true, but I feel homesickness too when I must to do some homework about household appliances.
(I also feel homesickness when I eat a cake and I know that I can’t eat it)

Here are a few tips to help you through it now or in the future:
Stay active. If you sit on the sidelines, you'll have more time to think about feeling sad. Talk to people and throw yourself into activities, and before you know it, you'll be too busy to be homesick
.

So here I’m to talk someone to say I don´t like this part of lessons, for instance, to write about myself and mine life's experience.
I liked more to learn about news, countries that I don’t know, environmental concerns, global warming and can to do something about the most unprotected and the environment
Sorry teacher, but I think this subject boring. I know you have no guilt.
I like you very much

Tv is good or bad?

Long time ago, when there was no TV, children played in the street even with rain or wind, and they were very happy. They had true friends and they were healthy.

A new book says that kids these days spend twice as much time in front of a TV or computer screen as in the classroom.
The book on how big business targets young consumers aggressively through new media suggests that children are a captive audience for sophisticated and energetic marketing techniques, as they spend so much of their day online or in front of the television.
I think tv is good and is necessary for everybody, TV was an invention that revolutionized the world and our way of thinking, but mainly for the younger generation TV should be consumed with care.

So, now that the sun shines, we'll walk on the beach or field, read books and talk.

It’s good for body and mind

What A Wonderful World

....and I think to myself, what a wonderful world....

A world where there is no difference, where all we are the same. A friends' world

Two new spaces online

Dear students,
I have created a website where I will publish relevant information for our classes and for the learning of English.
Take a look at the Homepage and then, more specifically, at the NG1 page.

It is a modest contribution, and I hope you will find it useful. There are links to vocabulary pages, vocabulary exercises, videos related to NG1, and the worksheets distributed in class can also be accessed there.

Enjoy it!

JLukas

For Matilde, my granddaughter

She loves this and always asks me to play this music for her dance

So, for her and for all who want a fun day

I wish all of you a good Sunday

And if we try to translate this beautiful song and then Francisco played it

This story should appear in the newspaper ........

A real picture

This is a hard story of war, and touches us our heart.....
The wife of John Gebhardt, Mindy, said that all family of this child was executed. The performers wanted to execute her also and they still reached her in the head ... they did not manage to kill her. She was treated at the Hospital of John, is recovering, but she cries and moans a lot. The nurses said that John is the only one who can to calm her. So John spent the last 4 nights holding her lap in the chair, while they were sleeping. The girl has been recovering gradually.

They have become true "stars" of the war. John represents what the Western world (???) would like to do.

This, my friends,it's to share with the whole World. Let's go to do that!

You never see news of this in the TV .
If you have been touched, make themselves known. All we need to see that there are people like John to make the difference.

We can not direct the wind, but we can adjust our sail

(My friends and teacher, sorry my mistakes, but I have to write this love story now, because people are doing a world without love.....)

Using and re-using, or using and throwing away?

How often do you replace technical devices, gadgets and appliances?
Are you the type of person who always wants the latest technology and therefore replaces their devices and gadgets on a regular basis or do you use, fix and re-use them until they wear out or fall apart?
